Evolution Bi-Metal fasteners use a carbon steel drilling point brazed to an austentic stainless steel body and head. The carbon steel allows the fastener to be used to self drill through demanding steels up to 4.0mm thick (Tek 3) and 12.5mm thick (Tek 5); while the stainless steel offers superior corrosion protection (against both oxidation and bi-metallic/ electrogalvanic corrosion) over standard carbon steel tek screws.
